I am thinking it’s because the western church has created a stifling monoculture that is usually associated by the un-churched as being somewhat happy but bland, tame, usually white, almost always middle-class, middle-of-the-road kind of person. Basically Ned Flanders. It’s just essential that churches stop with the sub-culture business and start to encounter Jesus from within their own cultures and from within their own communities. I’m reading a book about it right now called “The Shaping of Things To Come” By Frost and Hirsch. It’s quite good but kind of reads like a text book.

Also, I like to read your blog ☺

So true. I believe that Christian music should be on the cutting edge - it should be just as good, if not BETTER than what the "secular" world listens to. Hey you should watch the live DVD with Derek Webb called How to Kill and Be Killed - he has some good things to say about this topic exactly.

ps. I agree with pete, I also like to read your blog. :)
